Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of LLM/AI projects for life sciences clients — from scoping and data ingestion to deployment and user training.
- Translate zoology/botany/microbiology research requirements into technical task breakdowns, timelines, and KPIs for cross-functional AI engineering teams.
- Bridge domain experts (biologists, taxonomists, lab scientists) with NLP/AI engineers to ensure model outputs align with scientific rigor and field-specific terminology.
- Manage prompt engineering workflows, RAG architecture design, and fine-tuning pipelines using domain-specific datasets (e.g., species databases, microbial genome annotations, plant morphology repositories).
- Track model performance against scientific validation benchmarks, and drive continuous iteration based on expert feedback loops.
- Own stakeholder communication — prepare demos, documentation, and impact reports for non-technical clients and scientific review boards.
Must-Have
- Project Management (Agile/Scrum)
- LLM Deployment
- Prompt Engineering
- Domain Knowledge (Zoology OR Botany OR Microbiology)
- AI Product Delivery
- Stakeholder Management
- Technical Documentation
- Vector Databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone)
- Experience with RAG Systems
- Knowledge of Hugging Face Transformers
- Basic familiarity with Python or Jupyter notebooks
- 100% remote with flexible hours — build your own rhythm
- Work directly with scientists shaping conservation, agritech, and drug discovery
- Access to cutting-edge AI tools and training stipends for domain upskilling
