About this role
Job Summary
AI Foundry - BU Deployed Engineer
Role Overview
The AI Foundry Forward Deployed SBU Engineer serves as the bridge between AI platform capabilities and real-world financial workflows. This role combines deep domain expertise in capital markets with strong AI engineering skills to rapidly design, prototype, deploy, and scale AI-native solutions for specific business units and strategic client opportunities.
Unlike a traditional software engineer, this individual is expected to operate at the intersection of product, engineering, consulting, and financial workflows. They must understand how investment professionals, advisors, bankers, analysts, portfolio managers, and relationship managers work, and be capable of helping existing teams translate their applications from legacy systems to modern AI-native designs. The ideal candidate is comfortable with tackling large open-ended problems, designing agent workflows with product teams, integrating APIs and MCPs with engineers, and demonstrating solutions directly to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Business Unit Solution Ownership
- Partner directly with Banking, Wealth, Buy-Side, and Research teams to identify high-value AI opportunities.
- Design AI-native workflows that solve real user problems rather than simply embedding AI into existing products.
- Deconstruct existing products and applications into key high-value primitives to fuel AI agents and workflows (APIs, MCPs / Tools, Agents, and more).
- Serve as the technical lead for strategic pilots, proofs of concept, and forward-deployed engagements.
- Develop reusable patterns that can transition from custom solutions into scalable platform capabilities.
AI Solution Development
- Build agentic workflows using Foundry platforms, APIs, MCPs, evaluation frameworks, and agent infrastructure.
- Design prompt, tool, memory, and workflow architectures.
- Create deterministic, auditable workflows suitable for institutional financial clients.
- Leverage evaluation frameworks to improve quality, repeatability, and trustworthiness.
- Prototype and validate new solutions rapidly with end users.
