Description Barclays is hiring an AI Engineer for its Global Payment Services technology team in Pune. The role focuses on leading engineering for a multiyear SOLD Simplification initiative and delivering secure, scalable AI-enabled solutions.

Experience

• Experience in SOLD Simplification
• Strong full-stack engineering expertise using Python or Java
• Hands-on delivery of Generative AI solutions
• Experience with cloud-native engineering and DevSecOps
• Experience integrating AI with enterprise platforms and data sources
• Financial services or payments engineering experience
• Understanding of responsible AI, data privacy, regulatory compliance and delivery across multiple countries

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall engineering and development of the SOLD Simplification initiative
• Coordinate and support requirement discovery, initiative planning, delivery planning, roadmap and stakeholder management
• Design, develop and improve software using engineering methodologies
• Deliver high-quality software solutions that are scalable, maintainable and optimized for performance
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements and solution strategies
• Ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality and knowledge sharing
• Stay informed of technology trends and contribute to technology communities
• Apply secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and mitigate vulnerabilities
• Implement effective unit testing practices to support code design, readability and reliability
• Provide technical direction as a subject matter expert and guide collaborative, multi-year assignments
• Advise key stakeholders and senior management on functional and cross-functional impact and alignment
• Manage and mitigate risks in support of control and governance
• Strengthen controls in relation to the work the team does
• Collaborate across business-aligned support areas to keep up with business activity and strategies
• Create solutions through sophisticated analytical thought and interpretative thinking
• Use research outcomes in problem solving
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Use influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes

Nice To Have

• AI framework experience across Python or Java ecosystems such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Spring AI or LangChain4j
• MLOps and LLMOps knowledge
• Experience with enterprise platforms and data sources beyond core application integration
