About this role

Start: Immediate joiners only NeuroDrift builds enterprise voice AI and automation software. We're looking for a AI & Backend Engineer b uild the AI and backend core of a voice AI platform — the services, pipelines, and model integrations that make conversational agents work in production.
What you'll do
- Build and own backend services and APIs powering real-time voice agents
- Wire ASR, LLM, and TTS providers into production pipelines — orchestration, fallbacks, latency and cost tuning
- Build audio and data ingestion pipelines from telephony, streams, and vendor APIs
- Work across the data layer — PostgreSQL, queues, caching, storage
- Ship on weekly cadences with strong test coverage and observability
Required
- 2.5+ years building backend systems in production
- Strong Python (and comfort with TypeScript/Node)
- PostgreSQL, Redis/Kafka, AWS, Docker, CI/CD
- Hands-on with AI/ML in production — ASR, LLM APIs, RAG, evals (integration, not training)
- Solid grasp of real-time, latency-sensitive systems
Preferred
- Voice AI / conversational AI experience (STT, TTS, real-time audio)
- Experience with LiveKit, WebRTC, SIP, or similar
- Multi-provider model orchestration
- Non-negotiable: immediate availability.
