AGM- Production Planning & Control ( Foundry Operations)

Prefered - Mechanical/ Production Engineer

• Strong knowledge of Foundry operations and production planning.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar).

Role & responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for foundry operations including melting, molding, core making, and finishing.
• Optimize furnace utilization, mold line capacity, and manpower allocation to maximize productivity.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure adherence to the production schedule.
• Monitor plan vs actual production and take corrective actions.

ERP Implementation & System Integration

• Lead or support ERP implementation projects for manufacturing planning modules.
• Configure and optimize Production Planning (PP) and PP/DS modules.
• Ensure accurate BOM, routing, and master data setup for foundry products.
• Work closely with IT and cross-functional teams during ERP rollout, testing, and stabilization.

PP/DS Planning

• Use PP/DS tools for detailed scheduling, sequencing, and capacity planning.
• Manage constraints related to furnaces, molding lines, and machining capacities.

Inventory & Material Planning

• Plan and monitor raw materials such as pig iron, scrap, alloys, sand, and consumables.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels to support production without excess stock.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with sales, dispatch, quality, and maintenance teams to align production with customer

requirements.

• Support new product development planning and trial schedules.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Track key KPIs such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, furnace utilization, and plan adherence.
• Generate planning reports and dashboards using ERP/MIS systems.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.

Continuous Improvement

• Implement lean manufacturing and planning improvements to enhance productivity.
• Participate in capacity planning, plant expansion, and process optimization initiatives.
