Role:

We are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to drive delivery for an enterprise-grade AI platform for a large global insurer. This is a hands-on delivery role, focused on enabling distributed teams to execute effectively, remove blockers quickly, and deliver real outcomes at pace.

This role goes beyond running ceremonies. You will be accountable for momentum, predictability, and outcomes, working with offshore engineering teams and closely aligned with onshore stakeholders in the UK.

Key responsibilities:

• Own and drive day-to-day delivery across one or more AI delivery teams, ensuring work progresses smoothly from backlog through to production.
• Act as a servant leader to engineering teams, enabling focus, accountability, and high performance rather than enforcing rigid process.
• Run Scrum ceremonies pragmatically (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives), keeping them lightweight, purposeful, and outcome-driven.
• Actively identify, manage, and remove delivery blockers, escalating decisively where needed to maintain momentum.
• Work with Tech Leads, and Architects to ensure backlogs are prioritised, and ready for delivery.
• Coordinate effectively with onshore stakeholders, providing clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery health.
• Drive delivery predictability through effective sprint planning, dependency management, and continuous improvement.
• Foster strong collaboration between offshore and onshore teams, bridging time zones, communication styles, and expectations.
• Support adoption of DevOps and agile eng practices that improve quality, and speed to value.
• Ensure delivery remains aligned to enterprise governance, security, and quality expectations without slowing teams unnecessarily.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master on complex software or platform programmes.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, with the judgement to apply them pragmatically in real-world enterprise environments.
• Experience leading distributed teams, particularly working with UK stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive delivery, unblock teams, and get work over the line, not just facilitate meetings.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to communicate confidently with engineers, product owners, and senior client stakeholders.
• Experience working alongside DevOps and engineering teams in fast-moving, technically complex environments.
• Comfortable operating in regulated or high-assurance environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jira, including managing boards, dashboards, workflows and reporting, is mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on AI, data, or platform-led programmes.
• Familiarity with DevOps delivery models and CI/CD-driven teams.
• Exposure to working with Product Owners on backlog shaping and roadmap planning.
• Prior experience in consulting or client-facing delivery roles.
