AES - DE - FED - Senior Backend Engineers (Node.js)

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Node.js, API design, and modern cloud-based architecture, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Node.js
• Maintain and enhance existing backend systems
• Build RESTful APIs
• Build and optimize GraphQL APIs (schema design, queries, mutations)
• Ensure high performance of backend systems
• Ensure scalability of backend systems
• Ensure security best practices are followed
• Collaborate with frontend teams to define API contracts
• Define integration patterns with frontend systems
• Implement data access layers
• Work with multiple database technologies
• Participate in architecture discussions
• Contribute to technical decision-making
• Write clean and maintainable code
• Ensure code is testable and follows best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues
• Perform root cause analysis and resolution

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience in Node.js backend development
• Solid understanding of REST API development
• Experience in API integration
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL
• Experience in GraphQL schema design
• Experience in query and mutation handling
• Working knowledge of React or Next.js
• Experience designing scalable applications
• Experience building modular applications

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Kafka
• Understanding of event-driven architectures
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with DynamoDB
• Experience with MongoDB
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing
• Experience with messaging systems

Additional Skills (Nice To Have)

• Understanding of AWS IAM
• Understanding of AWS CloudWatch
• Basic networking knowledge
• Experience with AWS Lambda
• Experience with serverless architectures
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Understanding of cloud-native patterns

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Proven experience in scalable system design
