    About this role

Company Description BlueWay Horizon is focused on developing advanced re-entry systems technology to enable safe, frequent, and cost-effective return of high-value payloads from Low Earth Orbit. The company supports in-orbit microgravity research and manufacturing by providing reliable solutions for bringing materials and products back to Earth. BlueWay Horizon aims to bridge the gap between space-based production and terrestrial applications through innovative engineering. Team members collaborate across disciplines to tackle complex challenges in spaceflight, materials, and thermal protection. The organization offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technologies with real-world impact.
Role Description The Aerothermal Intern will support the analysis and design of thermal and aerodynamic environments for re-entry systems as part of an on-site team based in Roorkee. This internship role involves performing simulations, assisting in thermal and fluid dynamics modeling, and supporting the evaluation of heat loads and aerothermal performance for spacecraft components. The intern will help prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations that summarize findings for engineering reviews. Day-to-day responsibilities may include working with engineering software tools, validating models against test data, and collaborating with senior engineers on design improvements. The role also includes participation in team meetings, contributing to problem-solving discussions, and maintaining organized records of calculations and results.
    Qualifications

    • Foundational knowledge of aerodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, with an interest in re-entry systems and aerospace applications.
    • Experience or coursework in numerical simulation tools (e.g., CFD, thermal analysis software) and comfort working with engineering calculations.
    • Ability to interpret technical data, prepare clear documentation, and present analysis results to engineering stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work closely with a multidisciplinary on-site team.
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
    • Familiarity with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and model automation is a plus.
    • Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to take initiative on assigned tasks and projects.
