    Company: IG Defence
    Department: Aerospace Engineering / R&D
    Experience: 2+ Years
    Employment Type: Full-Time
    Location: Noida / Ghaziabad

    Job Summary

IG Defence is seeking a skilled Aerospace Design & Validation Engineer to support the mechanical design, engineering analysis, simulation, testing, and validation of aerospace structures, rocket motor assemblies, and missile-system mechanical subsystems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in CAD modelling, structural analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and engineering design validation, preferably within the aerospace, defence, propulsion, or UAV industry.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Develop 3D CAD models, mechanical assemblies, engineering drawings, and design documentation for aerospace and defence hardware.
    • Support the mechanical design and integration of rocket motor assemblies, structural components, housings, interfaces, and support structures.
    • Perform structural analysis and design verification under defined mechanical and environmental load conditions.
    • Conduct FEA using ANSYS Workbench or ANSYS Mechanical for stress, strain, deformation, modal, buckling, and thermal assessments.
    • Support CFD analysis using ANSYS Fluent for relevant aerodynamic and thermal-flow applications.
    • Perform design verification and validation through simulations, engineering calculations, inspections, and controlled testing.
    • Correlate simulation predictions with experimental or test data and document findings.
    • Optimize component designs for weight, strength, reliability, manufacturability, and performance.
    • Support material selection, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
    • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical reports, validation reports, test documentation, and engineering specifications.
    • Coordinate with propulsion, mechanical, avionics, GNC, manufacturing, and testing teams for subsystem integration.
    • Support prototype fabrication, assembly, inspection, and hardware validation activities.
    • Investigate design discrepancies and test failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Maintain engineering drawings, revision histories, design configuration, and technical traceability.
    • Follow applicable engineering standards, quality procedures, and laboratory and test-site safety requirements.

    Required Technical Skills

    1. CAD & Mechanical Design

    • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS.
    • Working knowledge of CATIA V5.
    • 3D part modelling, surface modelling, and complex assembly design.
    • Engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerancing, and BOM generation.
    • Mechanical structures, housings, interfaces, and component design.
    • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).

    2. CAE & Engineering Analysis

    • Working knowledge of ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Mechanical.
    • FEA: Static Structural, Modal, Buckling, Thermal, and Transient Analysis.
    • CFD fundamentals and working exposure to ANSYS Fluent.
    • Meshing, mesh-quality assessment, and boundary-condition definition.
    • Stress, strain, deformation, factor-of-safety, and results interpretation.
    • Simulation-based design optimization and engineering validation.

    3. Aerospace & Rocket Motor Systems

    • Understanding of aerospace structures and mechanical subsystem integration.
    • Familiarity with rocket motor assemblies and propulsion-system structural interfaces.
    • Understanding of mechanical loads, vibration, shock, and thermal environments.
    • Knowledge of lightweight structural design and aerospace materials.
    • Familiarity with missile-system mechanical interfaces, control-surface mechanisms, and actuator mounting arrangements.
    • Exposure to aerospace hardware testing and validation processes.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with ANSYS SpaceClaim, DesignModeler, and Meshing.
    • Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or Excel for engineering calculations and post-processing.
    • Familiarity with metallic and composite aerospace materials.
    • Understanding of ASME/ISO engineering drawing standards.
    • Exposure to environmental qualification, vibration, and shock testing.
    • Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, inspection, and hardware testing.
    • Familiarity with PLM/PDM tools and engineering configuration management.

    Educational Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in any of the following disciplines:

    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Aeronautical Engineering
    • Mechatronics Engineering
    • Other relevant engineering disciplines

    Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in aerospace design, mechanical design, structural analysis, engineering simulation, or design validation.

Experience in the aerospace, defence, rocket motor, UAV, propulsion, or high-performance mechanical engineering industry will be preferred.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be capable of contributing to the engineering lifecycle from CAD design and simulation through prototype development, testing, and design validation.
