Description :

The Technical Consultant is the hands-on lead who configures, builds and runs marketing automation programs on Adobe Marketo Engage. You turn the architect's design into working instances, campaigns, nurtures and lead management, and you own build quality across a small team of consultants and developers. You work day to day with client marketing operations, and train and hand over to client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and configure instances: admin settings, users and roles, fields, channels and tags, communication limits, program templates and folder standards.
• Build programs: trigger and batch campaigns, nurture tracks with transition rules, email and event or webinar programs, and A/B tests.
• Build email and landing page assets: modular templates, dynamic content, snippets, tokens and scripted personalisation.
• Build forms, subscription and preference centres, and consent capture.
• Implement lead management: scoring, lifecycle stages, routing and assignment, sales alerts and handoff to CRM.
• Manage data: list imports, normalisation, de-duplication, hygiene campaigns, and CRM sync troubleshooting.
• Monitor deliverability, test email rendering across clients and devices, and fix issues.
• Build program, email and lifecycle reports, and share insights and recommendations with marketing teams.
• Write test plans, run peer reviews and UAT, and maintain build checklists, runbooks and documentation.
• Lead the build team: plan and allocate work, review output, estimate tasks and report status.
• Train client marketers and admins, and run knowledge transfer and hypercare.
• Support managed-service and BAU queues against agreed service levels.

Must-have skills

• 8?10 years in marketing operations or marketing technology, including 5+ years hands-on with a marketing automation platform.
• Built campaigns, nurtures, scoring and lifecycle programs end to end for several clients or business units.
• Working knowledge of CRM sync behaviour (Salesforce preferred; Microsoft Dynamics acceptable).
• HTML and CSS for responsive email and landing pages; basic JavaScript.
• Consent, subscription management and email deliverability practices.
• Attention to detail in QA, testing and documentation.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small team, and confident in client-facing work.
• Comfortable with agile, ticket-based delivery (Jira or similar).

Certifications

• Adobe Marketo Engage certification (Business Practitioner level or above) required or within 3 months of joining.
• CRM administrator certification is a plus
