Admission Counsellor

Role & responsibilities

1. Student Counselling: Counsel prospective students and parents regarding the courses offered, eligibility criteria, admission procedures, fee structure, scholarships, and career opportunities.
2. Admission Enquiries: Handle admission enquiries received through phone calls, emails, walk-in visits, websites, and other communication channels.
3. Lead Generation and Follow-up: Contact prospective students, follow up on admission enquiries, maintain regular communication, and convert enquiries into confirmed admissions.
4. Course Guidance: Provide accurate information about undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, specialisations, placement opportunities, and academic facilities.
5. Admission Process Management: Guide students through the complete admission process, including application submission, document verification, eligibility checks, and fee payment.
6. Database Management: Maintain and update student enquiry records, admission registers, follow-up reports, and applicant databases.
7. Parent Communication: Communicate professionally with parents and guardians, address their queries, and provide appropriate guidance regarding the admission process.

• Good telephone etiquette and professional communication.
• Proficiency in MS Office, email, spreadsheets, and online admission portals.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Strong follow-up, coordination, and time-management skills.
• Target-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure.
• Professional conduct and a student-friendly attitude.
• Knowledge of higher education programmes and admission procedures.
• Fluency in English and Tamil; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
