About this role
Role & responsibilities
- ADAS System Integration: Responsible for end-to-end vehicle integration of AEBS (Advanced Emergency Braking System), LDW (Lane Departure Warning), BSIS (Blind Spot Information System), MOIS (Moving Off Information System) and DDAW (Driver Drowsiness & Attention Warning) functions in coordination with ZF and internal vehicle engineering teams.
- HW/SW Integration: Lead integration of ADAS ECUs, camera, radar and associated sensors with VCU, ABS/EBS, instrument cluster, gateway and other vehicle ECUs, including CAN/CAN-FD communication, power supply, wake-up/sleep, diagnostics and software compatibility.
- Vehicle E/E Interface Definition: Own and review system requirements, ICD/interface specifications, CAN DBC, signal mapping, diagnostic requirements, network topology and functional interactions between the ZF ADAS solution and vehicle ECUs.
- ADAS Component Packaging: Coordinate packaging and vehicle installation of front camera, radar, corner/side sensors, ADAS ECU, brackets, harnesses and connectors, considering sensor Field of View, mounting tolerances, vibration, environmental protection, serviceability and vehicle build feasibility.
- Vehicle Calibration: Plan and execute camera/radar static and dynamic calibration, sensor alignment and vehicle-specific calibration/tuning activities jointly with ZF to achieve required ADAS functional performance across different vehicle variants.
- ADAS Functional Testing: Develop and execute vehicle-level test plans for AEBS, LDW, BSIS, MOIS and DDAW, covering normal operation, boundary conditions, sensor limitations, warning strategy, braking intervention, CAN communication failures and degraded/fail-safe conditions.
- Diagnostics & DTC Management: Define and validate UDS diagnostics, DTCs, DID/RID requirements, fault detection, fault recovery, sensor misalignment detection, communication faults and diagnostic service-tool requirements for ADAS ECUs.
- EOL Integration: Define End-of-Line (EOL) requirements for ADAS systems, including ECU identification, configuration/coding, software version verification, DTC check/clear, sensor health check, camera/radar calibration/alignment status and final functional verification at the manufacturing plant.
- Vehicle Network & Communication Debugging: Perform CAN/CAN-FD analysis using tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer to troubleshoot missing/incorrect signals, message timing, network management, timeout, communication DTCs and functional integration issues.
- Supplier Technical Coordination: Act as the primary vehicle integration interface with ZF for requirements clarification, HW/SW release planning, calibration updates, defect resolution, vehicle testing, software flashing and technical issue closure.
- Software & Configuration Management: Manage ADAS software, calibration and configuration releases across prototype, development, validation and production vehicles, ensuring correct HW/SW/calibration compatibility and vehicle-variant configuration.
- Vehicle-Level Performance Validation: Evaluate system performance under different vehicle speeds, loads, road conditions, lane conditions, day/night operation and environmental conditions, documenting functional gaps and coordinating corrective actions.
- Failure & Degraded-Mode Validation: Verify ADAS behavior during sensor blockage, sensor misalignment, communication loss, low-voltage conditions, ECU faults and other relevant failures, ensuring appropriate driver warnings, DTC setting and graceful degradation.
- Field Issue Analysis: Lead investigation of ADAS-related field/vehicle issues, including vehicle data collection, CAN trace analysis, DTC analysis, software/calibration comparison, reproduction of field complaints and structured root-cause analysis jointly with ZF.
- Issue Resolution & RCA: Drive systematic problem-solving using methods such as 8D, 5-Why, fault-tree analysis and fishbone analysis, coordinating HW, SW, vehicle, electrical, brake, manufacturing, quality and supplier teams until closure.
- Brake System Interface: Coordinate AEBS functional integration with the ABS/EBS/braking system, ensuring correct request/acknowledgement interfaces, vehicle-state information, brake intervention behavior and fault/degraded-mode handling.
- Driver HMI Integration: Integrate ADAS visual and audible warnings with the instrument cluster/HMI, including AEBS collision warnings, LDW warnings, blind-spot/moving-off warnings, DDAW indications, tell-tales and ADAS malfunction/status indications.
- Harness & Electrical Integration: Review ADAS electrical interfaces including power supply, grounding, fusing, connectors, CAN termination, wiring harness routing, sensor cables and EMC-sensitive routing, and support prototype/production harness releases.
- Verification & Validation Documentation: Prepare and maintain DVP&R, integration test specifications, test cases, calibration reports, problem reports, issue trackers, CAN trace evidence and vehicle validation reports to support design release and production readiness.
- Production & Vehicle Build Support: Support prototype, DV/PV and production vehicle builds, ensuring correct ADAS HW, SW, calibration, sensor mounting, harness connectivity, ECU configuration, diagnostics and EOL process readiness.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Vehicle Integration, E/E Architecture, Brakes, VCU, Embedded Software, Homologation, Manufacturing, Quality, Service and supplier teams for overall ADAS integration and vehicle sign-off.
- Compliance & Homologation Support: Support engineering validation and homologation activities against the applicable ADAS regulatory requirements and vehicle-market requirements, working with homologation teams to ensure required evidence and system performance are available.
- Engineering Change Management: Evaluate ADAS impact due to changes in vehicle dimensions, wheelbase, tyre size, suspension, cab geometry, windshield, bumper, sensor bracket, payload/configuration or E/E architecture, and coordinate required recalibration or revalidation.
- Production & Service Diagnostics: Support development of plant and service diagnostic procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, sensor replacement/calibration procedures, DTC interpretation and service-tool requirements.
- System Maturity & Sign-Off: Own ADAS vehicle-integration maturity tracking from prototype to SOP, maintaining open-issue lists, supplier action tracking, validation status, software/calibration maturity and release-readiness reports.
