Core Roles and Responsibilities

• Hard Bucket and NPA Oversight
• Manage high-risk, long-overdue loan portfolios (hard buckets, typically 90+ days past due or severe delinquency).
• Drive bucket-wise recovery strategies for secured and unsecured lending products (such as vehicle loans, machinery finance, or personal/business loans).
• Field Operations and Agency Management
• Supervise field collection executives, regional officers, and third-party collection/recovery agencies.
• Conduct skip tracing to locate missing, untraceable, or absconding default customers.
• Regulatory Compliance and Ethics
• Ensure all recovery and hard-collection practices strictly adhere to RBI Fair Practices Code (FPC), outsourcing guidelines, and recovery agent rules.
• Prevent abusive or coercive collection tactics to protect the NBFC's brand reputation and mitigate legal/compliance risks.
• Handle customer grievances related to hard collection behavior.
• Portfolio Analytics and Reporting
• Monitor key metrics such as Collection Efficiency (CE), Portfolios at Risk (PAR), roll rates, and Credit Loss/ECL (Expected Credit Loss) numbers.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports for senior leadership and the Board.
• Identify Early Warning Signals (EWS) to prevent performing accounts from slipping into deeper delinquency.
• Team Training and Governance
• Train field and desk staff on negotiation techniques, de-escalation, legal boundaries, and company soft-skills standards.
