Accounts Receivable

Role Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end Accounts Receivable and revenue accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue and receivables, reconciliations, month-end book closure, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bank Reconciliation

- Perform bank reconciliations and pass necessary accounting entries.

- Investigate and resolve unreconciled items and ensure timely clearance.

2. Sales Invoice Accounting

- Record and account for sales invoices accurately and on a timely basis.

- Ensure appropriate customer, revenue and tax accounting.

- Review and resolve invoice-related accounting discrepancies.

3. Revenue Recognition

- Perform revenue recognition accounting in accordance with applicable Ind AS/accounting policies.

- Ensure revenue is recognised in the appropriate accounting period.

- Posting of revenue-related accounting entries and reconciliations.

4. Salary & Employee Cost & Deputed Personnel Cost Accounting

- Post salary-related journal entries and ensure accurate accounting of employee costs.

5. Related Party Reconciliation

- Perform periodic reconciliation of related party balances and transactions.

- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to identify and resolve differences.

- Ensure completeness and accuracy of related party accounting and reporting.

6. Accounts Receivable & Ageing

- Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable balances and customer ledgers.

- Prepare and review periodic AR ageing reports.

- Analyse outstanding balances and identify long-outstanding/unreconciled items.

- Coordinate with relevant teams for resolution of open items.

7. Month-End / Year-End Book Closure

- Ensure timely and accurate closure of books of accounts.

- Complete month-end accounting activities, reconciliations and necessary journal entries within defined timelines.

- Identify and resolve outstanding accounting issues impacting closure.

9. Investment Accounting

- Record and account for investment transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

- Ensure accurate accounting of investment income, valuation/amortisation and related transactions, as applicable.

10. Other Income Accounting ( Fixed Deposit Interest accounting)

- Record other income transactions.

- Ensure appropriate recognition, classification and accounting of income in the correct period.

11. Statutory Audit Support

- Provide schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents and explanations required for statutory audits.

- Coordinate with auditors for resolution of audit queries.

- Ensure timely closure of audit requirements relating to AR, revenue and other assigned areas.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Revenue Accounting

- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills

- Experience in month-end/year-end closure

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work with tight reporting timelines

- Good stakeholder and auditor management skills

- Strong Excel/Oracle EBS accounting system knowledge

- Ownership and accountability for assigned processes
