Position Title: Accounts Manager

1 Position Overview

The Accounts Manager will lead all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities for Moonlight Group operations in Ghana. This role ensures accurate books of accounts, supports internal controls, and enables timely reporting to management in the UK and regional offices. The candidate must be highly detail-oriented, with strong knowledge of local tax and accounting laws.

2 Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain day-to-day accounts (payables, receivables, cash & bank reconciliations)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Track inventory movements, cost of goods, and expense allocation
• Manage payroll and statutory deductions

Compliance & Taxation

• Ensure full compliance with tax laws (TVA, withholding tax, social contributions, etc.)
• Coordinate timely submission of all statutory filings
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government officials

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Support annual budget planning and cost analysis for farming, packing, and logistics operations
• Monitor budget utilization; highlight variances proactively
• Conduct cost control reviews for procurement, fuel, and packhouse expenses

Internal Controls

• Maintain strong controls on cash-handling, banking, GRN verification, and vendor payments
• Review supplier documents, invoices, and contracts before approval
• Implement systems to reduce fraud risk and financial leakage

Coordination & Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports for Group Finance
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and operations teams for timely documentation
• Support financial modeling for expansion and capital expenditure

3 Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5-10 years experience in accounting; agricultural/export industry preferred
• Knowledge of Senegalese tax and regulatory frameworks is essential
• Strong skills in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Sage, QuickBooks, ERP systems)
• Excellent written and spoken French; working knowledge of English preferred
• High integrity, strong analytical mindset, and ability to work independently
