About this role
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Accounts and Finance Manager to join our team and own the financial backbone of the company, from day-to-day accounting and compliance to investor reporting, due diligence support, and secretarial governance. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role reporting to the Operations Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting operations across the Indian entity and the US entity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, and prepare P& L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / GAAP).
- Deliver investor MIS reports monthly, including management accounts, ARR/MRR schedules, burn rate, runway, and key SaaS metrics as required under our Investors' Rights Agreement.
- Coordinate and manage statutory audits, tax filings (GST, TDS, advance tax, corporate tax), and coordinate compliance with ROC filings, annual returns, and board resolutions.
- Support the Company Secretary function, maintain statutory registers, coordinate board and shareholder meeting documentation, draft resolutions, and ensure compliance with the Companies Act 2013
- Monitor and enforce financial controls, expense policies, vendor payments, reimbursements, and procurement approvals.
- Track and manage SaaS-specific financial metrics like CAC, LTV, payback period, churn, and gross margin and present insights to the leadership team.
- Liaise with banks, external auditors, tax consultants, legal counsel, and government authorities as required.
- Assist in building financial models, annual budgets, and scenario plans to support business decision-making.
Requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related function.
- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth SaaS/technology company is preferred.
- Qualifications: CA (preferred), CMA, MBA (Finance), B. Com or similar with strong hands-on accounting and finance experience.
Tools and Systems:
- Hands-on experience with accounting platforms such as Tally, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for financial analysis, reporting, and modelling.
Must-have expertise:
- Bookkeeping and financial close Ind AS / GAAP
- SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV)
- Assist with Statutory audits
- Payroll management
- Cross-border India-US compliance
- Billing and Invoicing
- GST and TDS compliance
- Cap table awareness
- Due diligence support
- Cash flow management
- Secretarial compliance
Bonus points if you have:
- Prior experience at a B2B SaaS or developer-tools startup (Series A/B stage preferred).
- Familiarity with FEMA, RBI compliance, and overseas investment regulations for Indo-US structures.
- Exposure to equity compensation accounting, ESOP pools, and cap table management.
- Working knowledge of Stripe, Chargebee, or similar subscription billing platforms.
- CS (Company Secretary) qualification or equivalent secretarial certification.
Good to Have:
- You are obsessively organised: nothing falls through the cracks on your watch, and you maintain clean, audit-ready records at all times.
- You are comfortable owning, not just executing: you will set up the systems, not just follow them.
- You communicate clearly with stakeholders: the CEO, investors, and founders should always feel informed, not confused by numbers.
- You thrive in ambiguity: startup finance is rarely textbook; you can figure things out with limited guidance and know when to escalate.
- You are honest about what you don't know and proactive about learning: we would rather you flag a gap than hide it.
