Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and documentation as per client policies and procedures.
• Review vendor statements and reconcile accounts payable balances to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments, within agreed payment terms and schedules.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including vendor master data, invoice registers, and payment logs.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Monitor accounts payable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices to ensure timely resolution and payment.
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to resolve queries and improve AP processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOPs, policies, and procedures related to accounts payable processing and reporting.
• Assist with tax compliance activities, including TDS, GST, and other direct and indirect tax filings.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations affecting accounts payable transactions and provide necessary guidance.
• Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality accounts payable support services to clients.
