Accounts And Audit Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Independently plan and execute statutory, internal and other audit assignments.
• Handle audits from initial planning through completion and reporting with minimal supervision.
• Review books of accounts, financial statements, ledgers, supporting documents and internal controls.
• Perform substantive testing, analytical procedures and verification of balances and transactions.
• Identify accounting, compliance, control and operational issues during audits.
• Prepare and review audit working papers, audit reports and management observations.
• Coordinate directly with clients and obtain required information and explanations.
• Lead and supervise junior audit team members while actively participating in the audit work.
• Review the work performed by team members and ensure audit quality and documentation standards are maintained.
• Ensure audit assignments are completed within agreed timelines.
• Discuss significant audit findings with the Partner / Senior Management.
• Assist in resolving audit queries and client accounting and compliance matters.
• Support the team in handling multiple audit assignments simultaneously.

Preferred candidate profile

• Must be capable of executing audits independently, without requiring continuous guidance from the Partner or Senior Manager.
• Strong practical knowledge of audit procedures, accounting and financial statements.
• Experience in handling audit assignments for multiple clients.
• Good understanding of internal controls and risk-based audit approach.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and critically analyse financial information.
• Strong client-handling and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a small audit team and manage assignment timelines.
• Should be comfortable with field/client visits as required.
• Candidates with experience in a CA firm / audit firm will be preferred.
