Accounting Specialist

Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Professional to manage the full cycle of accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Inventory, and General Ledger (GL). This role ensures accurate financial records, supports reporting, and contributes to the overall financial health of the organization.

The Impact You Will Make

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring accuracy across financial transactions, and supporting timely reporting. Your work will directly impact financial integrity, operational efficiency, and decision-making.

What You Will Do

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process vendor invoices and verify accuracy
• Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Maintain vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Create and send customer invoices
• Record and reconcile incoming payments
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on collections
• Resolve billing issues and discrepancies.

Inventory Management

• Track inventory levels and movements
• Reconcile physical inventory with system records
• Record inventory transactions and adjustments
• Assist with inventory counts and audits.

General Ledger (GL)

• Maintain and update the General Ledger
• Post journal entries and adjustments
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
• Reconcile accounts and investigate variances
• Assist in preparing financial statements.

Does This Sound Like You?

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Microsoft Office)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 25 years of experience in AP/AR and general accounting
• Experience with inventory systems is an asset
• Focused on accuracy of financial records and timely closures
• Understanding of key metrics such as DPO & DSO
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Solution-oriented mindset.
