Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of Tally Prime, commodity trading, import accounting, GST, TDS, trade settlements, banking operations and MIS reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Tally Prime

• Handle day-to-day accounting, purchase, sales, receipts, payments and bank/ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain party-wise accounts, stock records and financial statements.

2. Trade Settlements & Washout Contracts

• Account for purchase/sales contracts, trade settlements, contract cancellations and washout gains/losses.
• Monitor open contracts, contract expiry, pending deliveries and settlement obligations.

3. Import Accounting & Landed Costing

• Account for import purchases, foreign currency transactions, customs duty, freight, insurance and clearing charges.
• Calculate landed cost and allocate import expenses to stock items in Tally Prime.
• Verify Bills of Entry and reconcile import documentation and duty payments.

4. GST & TDS Compliance

• Handle GST accounting, return reconciliations and eligible ITC claims, including import IGST.
• Understand GST implications on trading and washout transactions.
• Ensure correct TDS deduction, payment, return filing and reconciliation.

5. Banking & Foreign Remittances

• Liaise with banks for foreign supplier payments, import remittances and related documentation.
• Coordinate foreign exchange transactions, remittance applications, SWIFT/payment confirmations and import document submissions.
• Coordinate with banks for OD/CC facilities, including documentation, renewals, stock statements, book-debt statements and drawing power calculations.
• Assist in loan documentation, sanction compliance, interest reconciliation and submission of financial information to banks.

6. Stock & Inventory Management

• Maintain product-wise and warehouse-wise stock records and valuation.
• Reconcile physical and book stock and monitor goods in transit.
• Prepare stock ageing, contract expiry and pending delivery reports.

7. MIS & Profitability Analysis
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports covering:

• Trade-wise and product-wise profitability.
• Stock position, stock ageing and contract expiry.
• Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) ageing.
• Import shipment-wise landed cost and customs duty.
• Washout gains/losses and outstanding settlements.
• Cash flow, working capital, OD/CC utilisation and trading expenses.

8. Audit & Compliance

• Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents.
• Assist in statutory audit, tax audit and GST compliance.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, customs agents, suppliers and customers.

Required Skills

• Strong practical knowledge of Tally Prime and Advanced Excel.
• Experience in import accounting, customs duty and landed cost allocation.
• Knowledge of GST, import ITC, TDS and foreign remittances.
• Understanding of commodity trading, washout contracts and trade settlements.
• Experience in bank liaison, OD/CC documentation and working capital reporting.
• Ability to prepare accurate MIS, stock reports, AR/AP ageing and profitability statements.

Preferred Candidate: Candidates with experience in edible oil or commodity trading, import payments, banking documentation and trade-wise profitability reporting will be preferred.
