Job Title: Accountant (Lubumbashi, DRC)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with 5 to 7 years of experience to maintain the financial integrity of our branch in Lubumbashi, DRC. This role is critical in managing high-volume cash positioning to ensure liquidity for a fast-moving supply chain and payroll demands. The ideal candidate will act as the lead bank liaison for global collections, automated payments, and fee audits across retail and distribution accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management & Operations: Manage full-cycle accounting (AP/AR, payroll, balancesheet and monthly closings) and optimize daily cash positioning to support rapid supply chain needs.
• Controls & Auditing: Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and cost-control measures; conduct regular internal audits.
• Compliance & Legal Standards: Ensure 100% statutory compliance with local Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) tax regulations and maintain all books strictly according to OHADA accounting standards.
• Banking & Collections: Act as the primary liaison with banking partners to manage global collections, automated payment systems, and conduct regular fee audits.
• Data Integrity: Maintain precise financial records and perform cross-departmental verifications.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on accounting experience (experience in retail, distribution, or fast-moving supply chain sectors is preferred).
• Language Skills: Fluent in French (written and spoken) is mandatory; business proficiency in English is required.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in standard accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP) and advanced MS Excel.
• Core Competencies: Deep knowledge of OHADA accounting standards, DRC tax laws, and excellent banking liaison skills.
• Location: Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
