Account Officer

About the Role

• Ecosphere and MUSE are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and hands-on Accounts Officer to manage day-to-day accounting and financial administration in Kaza, Spiti Valley. The role covers bookkeeping, Tally entries, billing, payables/receivables, reconciliations, GST/TDS support, documentation, and routine MIS reporting.

Work Setup & Location

• On-site in Kaza, Spiti Valley during the peak operating season (April to December), with the option of remote work during the winter months.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain separate, accurate books of accounts for Ecosphere and MUSE in Tally Prime.
• Record daily sales, purchases, payments, receipts, petty cash, and journal entries.
• Prepare customer invoices, receipts, and track accounts receivable and vendor payables.
• Prepare GST purchase/sales data (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B support) and assist in basic GST reconciliation.
• Assist with TDS calculations, deductions, records, and CA coordination for statutory filings.
• Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations.
• Support monthly payroll calculations, employee advances, and expense claims.
• Prepare regular MIS reports (cash position, monthly revenue/expenses, outstanding statements).
• Maintain audit-ready financial records, bills, vouchers, and documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• B.Com or equivalent qualification.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (freshers with strong Tally skills welcome).
• Practical, working knowledge of Tally Prime and MS Excel.
• Basic understanding of Indian accounting principles, GST, and TDS.
• Experience in tourism/hospitality or the NGO/development sector is an advantage.
• Comfortable living and working on-site in Kaza, Spiti Valley.

Remuneration & Benefits

• ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month (based on experience).
• Accommodation and meals provided in Kaza.
