Account Executive

Role Description The Account Executive role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The individual in this role will manage client relationships, understand their insurance needs, and recommend suitable coverage across personal and commercial lines. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, preparing quotations, explaining policy features and benefits, coordinating with insurance companies for proposals and renewals, and supporting clients with claims-related documentation. The Account Executive will maintain accurate records, follow up on premium payments, and work closely with internal teams to ensure timely policy issuance and high-quality service. This role also involves identifying new business opportunities, participating in local marketing activities, and consistently upholding regulatory and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
• Strong client relationship management and customer service skills, with the ability to understand and clearly explain insurance products and coverage options.
• Sales and negotiation skills, including experience in prospecting, cross-selling, and closing insurance or financial services deals.
• Basic insurance domain knowledge covering personal and commercial lines, policy structures, underwriting parameters, and claims processes.
• Organizational and administrative skills for handling proposals, documentation, policy schedules, and follow-ups with accuracy and timeliness.
• Good communication skills in English and local languages (spoken and written), with professional telephone and in-person presentation skills.
• Comfort using office productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM or policy management systems) to manage client data and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external insurer partners, while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in insurance broking, agency, banking, or financial services is an advantage.
• Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma in business, finance, commerce, or a related field; insurance certifications are a plus.
