Title: Accountant

The accountant will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. The role involves preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, managing payables and receivables, and supporting audits. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving financial processes.

Responsibilities & Tasks
I.Financial Accounting & Reporting
-Prepare, review, and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations.
-Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
-Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS / GAAP) and company policies.
-Support management with timely financial reports and variance analysis.
II.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
-Process supplier invoices, payment runs, and expense claims.
-Track customer invoices and ensure timely collection of payments.
-Reconcile vendor and client accounts regularly.
III.
Budgeting & Forecasting
-Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
-Monitor expenditures and highlight budget deviations.
-Support management in cost control initiatives and financial planning.
IV.
Bank & Cash Management
-Manage daily banking transactions and cash flow requirements.
-Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
-Maintain petty cash records with supporting documentation.
V.
Audit & Internal Controls
-Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
-Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions.
-Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting procedures

-Freedom to carry out professionally the responsibilities and tasks described above.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Key Competencies
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
-Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA is an advantage.
Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a construction, contracting, or project-based environment.
-Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO modules) including journal entries, cost center accounting, and project accounting functions.
-Strong working knowledge of other accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems.
-Sound understanding of IFRS or equivalent accounting standards and local compliance requirements.
-Proven experience in financial reporting, cost control, and budget monitoring for multiple projects.
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling) and data analysis tools.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-High attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
-Good organizational and multitasking skills under tight deadlines.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
-Strong sense of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-department
