Digital & Web Accessibility Testing:
Conduct manual and automated accessibility audits for web applications, user interfaces, and digital workflows.
Perform rigorous screen reader testing using tools like JAWS and NVDA across standard browsers and virtual environments (e.g., VDI).
Validate keyboard navigation, focus management, semantic HTML structures, and ARIA attributes.
Standards & Audit Management:
Evaluate products against Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 (Level AA/AAA) guidelines.
Document defects clearly in bug-tracking tools (such as Jira) with actionable remediation steps for engineering and content teams.
Assist in creating and maintaining VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) documentation and compliance audit trails.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 4 to 5 years of professional software/QA testing experience with a specialized focus on digital and document accessibility.
Standards Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines, Section 508 compliance, and PDF/UA specifications.
Tool Proficiency:
Proficiency with document testing and remediation tools, including PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker), Adobe Acrobat Pro (Accessibility Checker/Tagging panel), and Office accessibility checkers.
Strong working knowledge of screen readers such as JAWS and NVDA.
Familiarity with automated accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse, ARC Toolkit).
Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS, semantic markup, and ARIA roles.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry-recognized accessibility certifications (e.g., DHS Trusted Tester, IAAP CPACC, or WAS).
Experience working within highly regulated industries (such as Banking, FinTech, or Healthcare) where document compliance is critical.
Background in developing internal training guidelines or advocating for accessibility best practices across teams.
