Job Description: Ab Initio Developer

Role: Ab Initio Developer

Role Summary- We are looking for an experienced Ab Initio Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-scale ETL/data integration solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with the Ab Initio platform, SQL, Unix/Linux, data warehousing, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL solutions using Ab Initio.
• Develop and maintain Ab Initio graphs, plans, components, and reusable frameworks.
• Work with GDE, Co>Operating System, EME, and Conduct>It as applicable.
• Build high-volume batch data processing and data integration workflows.
• Perform data mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Develop Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and batch processing.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize Ab Initio graphs for large datasets.
• Troubleshoot ETL failures and perform root-cause analysis of production issues.
• Work closely with business analysts, data architects, DBAs, and upstream/downstream application teams.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, release activities, and production deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation, mapping specifications, and operational runbooks.

Mandatory Skills

• 4+ years of hands-on Ab Initio development experience.
• Strong knowledge of GDE and Co>Operating System.
• Good understanding of EME and metadata management.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or similar platforms.
• Strong Unix/Linux and shell scripting skills.
• Good understanding of:
• ETL/ELT concepts
• Data warehousing
• Parallel processing
• Partitioning and repartitioning
• Sort, join, lookup, rollup, normalize/denormalize, and aggregation techniques
• Data quality and reconciliation
• Experience troubleshooting and tuning large-volume ETL jobs.

Good to Have

• Ab Initio Conduct>It experience.
• Experience with Control Center or operational monitoring.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or cloud-based data platforms.
• Knowledge of Python.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Telecom, or other high-volume data environments.
